Hi! I'm Mayur Kumbhar, a Backend & API Engineer with 6.8+ years of experience in Java, API Management, and microservices architecture, specializing in Apigee and API Gateway solutions.

I'm skilled in Spring Boot, REST APIs, OAuth 2.0, JWT, and CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Git, Docker, and Kubernetes. I love building scalable, secure, cloud-native APIs and managing the end-to-end API lifecycle.

What is Apigee and why does it matter?+

Apigee is Google Cloud's API management platform used to design, secure, deploy, and monitor APIs at scale. It acts as a gateway between clients and backend services – handling auth, rate limiting, analytics, and traffic management without touching core business logic.

What's the difference between Apigee Edge and Apigee X?+

Apigee Edge is the legacy on-premises or cloud-hosted version. Apigee X is the newer, fully GCP-native version that integrates deeper with Google Cloud services like Cloud Armor, IAM, and Cloud Logging – offering better performance and a more modern architecture.

How do you secure APIs end-to-end?+

End-to-end API security involves multiple layers: OAuth 2.0 / JWT for identity and token-based authentication, API keys for app-level identification, TLS/mTLS for transport encryption, threat protection policies to block injection attacks, and quota policies to prevent abuse at scale.

Are you open to remote or contract work?+
